The american dream is a symbol of success and about having connections with certain people but these people living the “american dream” are blinded by money and is usually corrupt.In the novel the great Gatsby by F. The stuff he did to obtain his american dream was illegal and ended up bad for him all the parties and stuff he had was temperory satisfactions to fill in his loneliness.The american dream led hium to his downfall because of the way he got to it it was all a facade that couldnt get him happiness or daisy.
