The United States lost a lot in Vietnam, but what exactly did they lose? Not only physically but mentally as well which the U.S. lost include, hope and morality change (immolations made by those disturbed by the war), the American governments changes antecedently, during, and subsequently following the war, relationships with American allies and enemies, and lastly the use of Agent Orange. However the U.S. was known to loose the war, that is not the only thing they lost— how about morality and the backbone that stands behind the United States Special Forces. Better yet how it affected the way we view the government policy today and how we respect our U.S. government as a forefront. Firstly, the immolations* made by people who were impacted with the “War of Attrition” were directly impacted and this focused directly on something that was lost in Vietnam. The reasons why this is an example of something that was lost in Vietnam is because it surely shows how the administration (American) used Vietnamization* for the search for peace. Quite important to “the Silent Majority” back at home (U.S.) which was effected quite a bit. This resulted in the U.S. leaving Vietnam with hope, and morality in negative ways. The French and the Germans were very unhappy with us and our actions. However we tried to settle things with them and told them that the U.S. domino theory is that if one state went Communist, other states in the region would follow, and U.S. policy thus held that Communist rule over all of Vietnam was unacceptable. The French and Germans still were not happy with our actions until they figured out what we did.
