The huge differences in women in the Colonial Period and women today can be compared in many ways and in almost all aspects - how they behave, how they live everyday, how they interact with the opposite sex, how they handle courtships, how they view family and how they value the essence of being a woman.
Women in the Philippines have relatively evolved depending upon the people that colonizes her country. As discussed before in class, before the Spanish Era, Filipino women were made equal to that of men, as maternal and paternal lineage were recognized by that time. Priorities of women today are very much different. Women today pursue careers and business anywhere and everywhere, having children in the care of others, often relegating husbands on the sides. These appear to have contributed to the destruction of homes and families.
Our women today, although not all of them, have even become adventurous, becoming social climbers, social drinkers and social go-getters. They are now in constant competition with men, even surpassing them at times. Women today are in different strata of society. They are now exploring various fields of interest. In the process, sacrifice for the family unity is already insignificant.
And Due to these changes, Filipino women nowadays are generally regarded highly by society caused by the important contribution and impact they have made in their respective families, which up to this day remains the main and basic value of a Filipino women.
Consequently, we can truly and clearly see an evolution of Filipino women nowadays, especially during the start of coming of the latest technology. It changed many people 's lives, many systems and organizations and apparently, it also changes the basic nature of Filipino
