Caesar was given the responsibility of overseeing the household as all young men were expected to do. As he got older he went on to be a Roman politician and a general and played a part in the events that led to the demise of the Roman and rise of the Roman Empire. He’s also recognized for being an author of Latin Prose. Caesar advanced up a level in his position when he won an election in 60BC to be dictator of Rome. He was even due to appear at a session of the senate. Agonizingly, Caesar was assassinated at the senate’s office. 60 men participated in his elimination, and he was stabbed an excessive amount of 23 times. His body had been laying lifeless on the floor for nearly 3 hours before officials arrived to remove it. His body was cremated and a temple was built where he was buried. Today, only an altar remains. There is, however a life size statue that was erected in the forum displaying the 23 stab wounds.
