In the Confetti Girl both the father and daughter like to cook but in “Tortilla Sun” only the mother likes to cook. Actually not necessarily, but they swap positions and cook at different times. When someone isn 't cooking there is someone cleaning. The fathers cleaning is good, and everyone likes it, but the daughters isn 't the best. For example “What are you doing dad? Making dinner, I thought I would give you a break”(Confetti Girl). This is saying that the father clearly indicated to not like her daughters cooking. The mother always seems not to cook, which isn 't fair for the people that have to cook. Also everyone is trying to hold in that the daughters food isn 't good. Both stories start out with someone walking into the kitchen and getting hit with food. Also they are are walking in with either there mom cooking or there father cooking. When they both walk in there is some type of food flying or something this is always cooking. The mother of “Tortilla Sun” is cooking when her daughter walks in too some type of food going through the air. “I ducked as a piece of tile flew at me. Hey!... In “The Confetti Girl” after the daughter comes home the mother is waiting and always wants her daughter to do her nails or something. “Mom always had after-school projects waiting for me. Can you help me decorate cookies?... Fix my nails, please. She loved to paint them(Confetti Girl). During dinner the daughter says she has homework but left her book in school, so the father had said he has an extra. The father has to look for the book which is far away and she doesn’t want him to find it. After dinner the daughter has to read and does her homework, which she didn’t want to do. After everything both stories relate because in both the daughters don’t get their way. Also both of the parents really were not the best because the daughters had no say in what would
