In life, everyone has a goal that they want so badly to accomplish, but there may be a lot of things in your path trying to hinder you. There are two stories that have helped many people to stay positive and to push more. The “Rocking Horse Winner” by D. H. Lawrence and “A Worn Path” by Eudora Welty are very similar because the themes of both are the stories are persuading us to push no matter what the situation is. “The Rocking Horse Winner” and “A Worn Path” both are stories that have their ups and downs, but they both help us to understand the importance of patience, love, and courage. In the first place, Phoenix and Paul are tolerant in light of the fact that during their trips they didn't inquire as to why their journeys to success was taking so long, but they kept up being sure. In “The Rocking Horse winner”, Paul use to patiently sit on the rocking horse he received for Christmas and waited for luck to come to him. Paul needs to be adored by his mom so he begins wagering on stallions that will to be sure win. This allowed him to make money that his mother or father couldn’t. Paul is determined to make his mom lucky by showering her with unexpected money that would hopefully bring happiness to her life. Phoenix in the story “A Worn Path” is similar because of how she acts towards situations that come across her. …show more content…

Phoenix helped me understand that no matter how many things you have been through, always stay positive. Paul taught me to never give up even when it seems like I have no luck. The both taught me to be patience though out my struggles because it won’t be so hard. Secondly, they taught me to love someone unconditionally. Thirdly, they taught me to have determination in my heart and mind and I will make it farther than my body can go. Thinking about these two motivates me and reminds me that no matter how old your young you are, we all have the strength to pursue something
