Jewish and African American impression What do you know about oppression? Jews and African Americans were both oppressed against by Natzi’s and slave owners. The invention of the cotton gin, and Hitler coming to power caused this oppression. In some ways Jews and African Americans were alike and different in some ways. History of slaves to the was being beaten by their owners. They had to do hard manual labor for free. To fighting back in the Civil War. To starting to get rights when the Union won the Civil War. To finally being considered as equal to all other types of man.Up until 1960 African Americans couldn’t use the same water fountains and stuff as whites. Jews and slaves had little to work with and hardly any money to work with. African Americans had little money to afford bills and everything barely squeaking by. Little rights on certain things. Hitler stripped away Jews rights not the Germans rights. African Americans were just then earning their rights. During their oppression they both African Americans and Jews went through a war for their freedom. Jews went through World War II. African Americans went through the Civil War. Differences in bad times Hitler was given dictator power making Jews lives harder. German Parliament passes Enabling Act giving Hitler dictatorial powers. African Americans didn’t originally have many rights.Jews get stripped of their citizenship. Nazi Party is now declared the only legal party in Germany; Also, Nazis pass Law to strip Jewish immigrants from Poland of their German citizenship. African Americans didn’t get stripped of citizenship. Jews rights are slowly stripped away.Jews are banned from many professional occupations including teaching Germans, and from being accountants or dentists.
