Since the beginning of modernization, education has become a key element in keeping up-to-date with the rapid advancements being made around the globe. Education has become the substructure for a country to prosper from the pit of poverty and improve their standard of living. A lacking educational program commonly leads to poor conditions and stagnant improvements to the country’s well being. This specific lack, or fail, of a strong education structure is prominent in third world countries such as Burma. Due to the poor conditions of third world countries, such as the conspicuous indigence, Burma is not providing the proper funding to maintain steadily successful education programs. Burma suffers from poverty and militant rule. These challenges affect the educational programs due to the neglect of education importance. A struggling economy reflects in the quality of education in the country has established. Burma, a third world country, is susceptible to poor programs due to their misfortune economy. An interesting suggestion came from Denis Simon, an Arizona State University Vice Provost for International Strategic Initiatives. He believes Burma needs to do more than just make renovations to the buildings. Burma needed to make changes to the whole experience of learning, re-establishing a new education system in which students are active outside and inside of the classroom. Even though Myanmar began participating with foreign universities to enhance their programs, there are still serious issues with Burma’s higher education system. This system must be nurtured in order to recover from the tragic declination. (Simon) The Burma education system must retaliate in order to save the country.
