Athens is war torn because of the Persian War; therefore it is crucial that the city gets rebuilt. Not just walls are crumbled, but the citizen’s spirit, and the economy of this nation. The magnitude of this city draws the produce of the world into the harbor, so that to the Athenian the fruits of other countries are as familiar a luxury as those of his own. We must do what we can to propel this great nation towards financial prosperity. A way to grow the economy is by continuing to run and opening small, family owed businesses. Even though Athens is rich in art and literature, trade and business needs to become more prominent to grow the economy. We need specific businesses that cater to the cities needs now that the war is over, and to fulfill those needs. There are many pros to a family run business. A close-knit family is a natural team. In any business, speed ensures more production, and that will essentially lead to more growth and success in this city. Raising children in family businesses is an enormous plus for an economy. Our children are our inheritors, and will run this city someday. We want to equip them with the skills to do so, and starting with family trades is a smart way to do that. When offspring grow up in the business, they absorb the skills it takes to succeed. Once children learn the ways of an occupation, they can take over and hopefully grow and improve the economy in Athens. Loyalty is another aspect that is so important in a business.
