College is a milestone in life that many students, including myself, look forward to for years. For college, I want to go to a medium sized school with a strong science program and a diverse and supportive community and I believe that Baylor will fulfill those characteristics. One of the main things I like about Baylor is the resources available for science majors, since I intend to eventually get a Ph.D. to work as a neuroscience researcher. Baylor’s science and health living-learning center would fulfill my desire for a sense of community and would allow me to interact and live with other science students who share similar interest to mine. Also, Baylor has a science research fellows major that is unique. Doing this major, along with a neuroscience major, would aid me in learning how to conduct research, so I could succeed in graduate school and in my future career as a neuroscience researcher …show more content…
After visiting the campus, every single student I talked to said that one of the most unique aspects of Baylor was the sense of community that was felt at Baylor. It is a school large enough to provide amazing opportunities for its students, but still small enough to have the community. This community is established by events such as Walk the Line or Dr. Pepper Tuesdays that transform Baylor from just a university to a home. The professors also are involved with students; on my visit, one student told me that she was having a competition with another student to see how many professor’s houses they could go to since the professors are so dedicated and willing to interact with students. The encouraging nature of the students and staff at Baylor help to make it a supportive learning environment that would promote my growth as a
