1. The occupation I am researching is the F.B.I. special agents. I am interested in pursuing this occupation because of the work that it does. Being able to work among the best of the best when it comes to criminal investigation would be the greatest honor ever, but being able to actually get accepted for just an interview would be amazing in its own just because of the fact of hard it is and all of the rigorous testing you have to be able to pass. Becoming apart of the 27,000 special agents is no easy task, as it is very competitive when it comes to test time. 4. The educational requirements for joining the FBI are that you have to be a college graduate and have at least three years of full time career work of the same field. Working in the FBI can be dangerous at times. Some of the dangers for new agents are things like being assigned to undercover drug busts, which most new agents are assigned to. Other dangers include having to deal with crazy people and things like terrorists. 7. The work schedule for an FBI agent usually changes based on the amount of time you’ve been with the FBI. The average hours required are 10-hour work days. 50 to 55 hours are the average amount of hours a week an FBI special agent works, but these hours can change based on what’s happening that week. When you become a special agent, another thing that affects the amount of hours you work is what kind of squad you are assigned to, the squads are applicant squads, civil rights squads, computer crime squads, counterterrorism squads, drug squads, economic crime squads,environmental crime squads, financial crime squads, financial institution fraud squads, homicide squads, organized crime squads, and violent crime squads (Ackerman 45-50). Working with the FBI can be a really fulfilling job if you stay with it. There are many opportunities working with the FBI because there are so many job titles within it.
