As a licensed therapist, your duties are relatively straightforward. Your job/responsibility is to determine mental disorders and give assistance in any way you can to help the patient feel better. Giving treatment and counseling is also a requirement. You’d need to have a master’s degree for the majority of these positions. The skills you’d need for this position include active listening skills, communication skills, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
Under the role of being a licensed therapist not many technologies are being used. A big thing used with Therapists is a variety of video and audio communication software, such as Skype, Facetime, Google Hangout, and Zoom. Other useful softwares could be note taking applications and search engines such as Google or Bing. These are the main uses of technology within the field. Some mobile apps can be used but overall this field of work is fairly technology light.

A majority of therapists have close ties with the medical fields and medical industries but do not usually have a degree in the medical field. The people that therapists work by are usually other people in the psychology field and other therapists. A typical therapist work day can change varying from day to day, however, the typical therapy appointments consist of a 45-50-minute therapeutic hour, which leaves a counselor 10-15 minutes to make notes or prepare for their next client. If they don't book clients back-to-back, they may also have time to review their notes from the last session to refresh before their next client comes
