Black culture is a culture that was created by African people. Black culture has many things in it such as music, fashion, and religion. There are many different types of cultures but there is only one type of culture that was created by African people.

Music
The first thing that comes to mind when you think of black culture is music. Music has been an important part of the African way of life for centuries. The sounds and rhythms have been passed down from generation to generation through oral tradition, creating a common musical heritage throughout Africa. Many different types of music come from all over Africa but the most well-known would be Jazz, Afrobeat, Highlife, and Pop/R&B music (“What Is Black Culture?”). Afrobeat came about in Ghana during the early 1900s with influences from European dance styles like mambo and cha-cha (“Afrobeat History Timeline”). Highlife came about in Nigeria during the 1920s with influences from American country songs (“Highlife History Timeline”). Pop/R&B started out in America around 1910 as a way for black Americans to get their message across without being offensive so they made this new genre called ‘popular Negro song or jazz or boogie woogie piano playing style popularized by white radio stations who played it on their shows so blacks could hear themselves singing on radio without being offended because it wasn't them singing but someone else playing an instrument making it sound like they were singing instead which helped spread this new genre across America quickly (Snyderman & Rothman 2018:4). All these genres have had an impact on society today especially pop/r&b because most mainstream artists sing about love relationships
