A lot of cat owners has experienced their pets peeing outside their litter box. Studies show that around 10% of the cats had peed at least once outside of their own toilet. There are different reasons for that and now we will discuss them in depth.
Territorial issues
Male cat urine contains hormones which makes it smell much stronger than the female one. As we know the hormones are released in order to mark territory. By doing that, a cat makes other cats aware of his presence and makes a statement about things such as which piece of property is his, how long ago he was in the area and, over time, when other cats can expect him to return.
