Citizen Kane was a movie that I was a little confused in at first. When the television reel started, I did not know what to expect. However, I enjoyed the movie once I started to gain an understanding of it. This movie was created by a young man who made it similar to the life of William Heart, showed the life changes of Charles Kane and how he lived his life the way that he never wanted to live his, and it showed me this movies relationship with the mass medium that I aspire to go into. Overall, this movie is one that will stay with me, because it has taught me about a historical film that has been notified for its excellence.
I thought it was creative how a twenty-five to twenty-six-year-old wrote this movie and tried to make it like William Hearst’s life. He made it different so that people could not claim it of being his life. However, I did think it showed a lot of comparison to what I knew about Heart’s life and I think that made it a little easier to follow. His last word that one of his workers in the house heard him say was “Rosebud.” I did not fully understand the meaning and it was confusing to try and understand the idea of the word rosebud. I thought that it had something to do with one of his wives that he had in his life because it sounds like it would connect to one of the women. I thought for a second that there could have been another mistress with the name of Rosebud. Nonetheless, I never expected it to be the sled that he had when he was a child.
