A Cloverfield sequel has been rumored for quite some time, ever since the found-footage monster film opened in January of 2008. It seems the idea for a sequel has never left the mind of J.J. Abrams, and the mystery box still seems to be in full effect with the out-of-nowhere release of a trailer for the movie set to release on March 11. 10 Cloverfield Lane is Cloverfield‘s “blood relative,” according to Abrams in a statement to Collider. John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and John Gallagher Jr. appear to make up the cast for this film; at least, those are the only three faces viewers get to see in the trailer. For all audiences know, dozens more could be in the film and may be revealed in later trailers.
