Analysis: Why College Athletes Should Be Paid

Just think a college basketball player working hard and the top of their team it all good on the court but outside of basketball they are struggling to get money. A starting freshmen in college was tacked so hard in football the he was paralyzed. A college basketball player has most his/her time practicing for basketball. Most college basketball players have to skip classes for basketball. College basketball player should be paid for these reasons they put their bodies at risk, they don’t have money, and they skip classes for basketball.
Basketball players put their bodies risk every time they play. College Athletes pushing their bodies to get the play and “There have been instances of players becoming paralyzed by hits or tackles on football fields or other injuries that have ended player’s careers before they even get started.” (Patterson 2) They get hurt really bad from the hand to a concussion that it can make them out a season and some out for the rest of the life. According to Madisen Martinez “Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournaments require an extended period in which the student-athletes must miss school.” They skip class for the game to win tournament that they work so hard to get to. College Students Athletes is a full time job, they go to weight training to classes and then to the film room to the practice and finally to the game. (Martinez) The whole time they are getting ready for basketball and not much of school work. Some of the basketball things they do is mandatory and they have to go to it. If they have mandatory stuff in basketball then why do put in the class times so they skip classes, shouldn't they make where they do not skip classes.The college athletes use most of their time at basketball
