The Life and Adventures of Daniel Boone is biography based on the famous frontiersmen Daniel Boone who went much extremities to live the life of a woodsman. The book written by Michael A. Lofaro, was published by The University of Kentucky in 1978. Lofaro gives a great deal of details in Daniel Boone’s background and shows much of his early childhood and up until his death. Is is a most intriguing occurrent of events that inspired this young woodsman who grew up to be known as a substantial mountaineer. Daniel Boone would not have existed if it were not for his grandfather whom heard of the Louisiana Purchase and was destined to buy land for him and his family to prosper on.

Daniel never really had a good education; he attended school for a short amount of time but thought it would be better to learn the ways of surviving the great outdoors. In Lofaros book it says that Daniel was a prankster and was always doing things to cause mayhem. He soon matured when life hit him the hardest; the military needed help when the French and Indian War and he would be their scout for the rugged terrain. When after a defeat against the natives was too much for Daniel he left and soon married Rebecca Ann Boone. They would be together forever and having six sons and three daughters. Daniel taught most of his children the ways he grew up. In his mid years Boone had been hired by fur trading companies to set out west with hunting parties where he would find his game. The west had unbelievable amounts of wildlife at the time and it was also occupied by Cherokee indians. This meant Daniel needed to weary of his surroundings. Throughout the rest of his life he would be a frontiersmen it was his destiny. So on september 26, 1820 Daniel past away with natural causes and said before he died “Im going now, my time has come.” He was then buried next to his wife Rebecca who he loved very
