Rape has been a controversial issue for years. Although that is what is “known” to be, what the media will show. Rape is a consequential topic that is being argued in society. This is the same with date rape. No matter the actions of the victim, rape is never deserved. Another 'excuse' for date rape is that the people were previously involved in an intimate relationship, or had been friends before. I personally will argue that many men will claim that once the door for sex is opened, it is never closed. There could be nothing further from the truth. Personally, I think if a man has this mentality that the pervious sexual acts with a woman provide a free pass or an excuse to have sex with her again when she does not consent is really not a man at all. . The man does not have to confirm with the woman at every increasing step of sexual acts, but he must know when 'no means no.' To say that previous sexual acts with a woman give the 'O.K' to have sex with her anytime again is demoralizing towards both men and women. It is implying that men are pigs who cannot control their sexual desires and that a woman are just the tools of sex at the man's disposal. Neither of this is true, and therefore prior acts of intimacy or sex is not a justification for date rape.
