Democracy is seen as the ultimate ideal that modern civilizations strive to create, or preserve. This system is supposed to allow representation and inclusiveness of as many people and views as possible to keep the system function and fair (Shah, 2017). However, in America that does not seem to be the case. Some Americans look down at others who do not share the same ethnicity, religion, and political values as they do. Furthermore, if they are Muslim, they are likely to be thought of as a terrorist. America has driven a line between people and if you are not part of the majority, you do not get the respect of others, or a say. This is not what a democracy is supposed to be like. Democracy is supposed to include everyone, to shar all ideas. This is what keeps the system fair and functioning. The only way this country will grow and prosper is if everyone works together. While some things cannot be agreed upon, it does not mean an all-out war and obstance against the other. To move forward and make this nation even greater, both parties are going to have to put their differences aside and work together. Compromises are going to need to be made. Immigration is a part of our culture. While there have been some who have done it illegally, it is not mean the demise of the country. If those illegal immigrants have added to our society, work force, religious community, and racial and ethnic diversity, then they deserve a chance at becoming an American citizen. Both parties should realize the value of good, hard working people. Political parties are a dividing force in America and it should not be this way. The parties can represent their ideas, but they should also be at least willing to listen to the other side and come to a compromise that both can agree
