People have many different stories in their lives, but every human is connected by thoughts, and emotions that make us, us. The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the article “Teenagers in Love” by Nancy Kalish, and the article from StudySync called “All for Love” includes human thoughts and emotions shown by the author. To show what it means to be human, authors describe emotions, thoughts, and actions. They use emotions to connect the character to the reader to make a bigger impact on the piece of writing. The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare focuses on many different human emotions throughout the play, the biggest ones being love and sadness. The quote, “My only love sprung from my only hate. Too early, seen unknown, …show more content…
“Adults who under the strength of the bond- or impact of a first love- may have forgotten what a blow it was when they lost their first love.” This is another example of sadness in an article on human emotion. This quote is implying to the world that kids or teens can’t feel the emotion of love for another human being, but they can as adults. As a teen girl, your first love does have an impact on your brain, and your emotions and/or thoughts. Having a love for someone could affect your emotions and thoughts for a long time, or possibly a short amount of time. I think people use their first loves as a “foundation” for the next relationships in their future so that causes them to seldom get over their first loves unless they choose to completely forget about them. The next quote from Nancy Kalish is, “The pain of a breakup will subside with time, but the love may stay buried and a doormat for decades.” This quote is showing that people try their best to forget about past relationships or loves but it ends up getting doormat or stored away so they don’t have to deal with those feelings when it happens but later on, so it can be like later problem. I feel people tend to procrastinate or try to think of something else and bottle up their feelings so they don’t have to deal with their …show more content…
I think people have different views on love, or it has different definitions. To me, love is an emotion and it could mean platonic or romantic, or family. To me, everyone is different in their ways, and you can show it differently in each situation. When people think of love, their minds could go in any direction for the definition and I think that's why people have made such a generic way of thinking about the word “love” and it’s starting to have less meaning and value. The first quote from the article is the definition of love, “The word “love” itself … meaning to cherish, to delight in or to approve.” Yet love is used in polar opposite ways, it can be used as in “I love you so much.” to “Oh yeah, I love pasta” one is in its deepest form and the other is just explaining what you like, or maybe would prefer over something else. Another quote from the article is, “Love can bring people together or drive them apart.” Meaning that love can either bring two people closer than ever and they can have a platonic or romantic relationship together, but it can also drive people apart. Being driven apart by love could mean many things, but sometimes human emotions can cause jealousy, or your lack of actions and thoughts could cause you to affect a relationship you didn’t mean
