As much as the diversity of ethnics in the world, there are more than hundred languages spoken around the world. Despite the majority of the world have their own native language, English has been arguably “the universal language” of much side of the world, given by the fact that it is not only spoken in more than 54 countries, but also First world countries such as United Kingdom and United States, where English has been spoken as the first language for centuries. Some critics argue that language itself are more than words and expression but it also carries local/regional culture, tradition consensus and ideologies as well; Some of these critics further argues that the domination of English as the universal language in recent decades will bury these specific aspects found only in the region. Language is a barrier which hassle on communication and removing this barrier would benefits to globalization by enhance relationship between countries and allow economics, business to prosper. As English has become the only language everybody uses, there will be no more language barrier and linguistic discrimination between different language backgrounds will be diminished, to treat individuals equally and not criticize on other accent, use of vocabulary. One example of unification that benefits the world is the Metric System or International System of Units (SI units), countries except US, Myanmar and Liberia has all adopt this system, this system allows the world to have the same measurement in every country, allow scientific research to become convenient and eliminate error when communicating results.
