Julian Jacinto and Angel Carlos Mrs. Youkhana ELA 3/10/23 Football is too dangerous for middle schoolers A doctor at Cincinnati University said to Damar Hamlin “You won the game of life.” The game of football was originally founded on September 17th, 1920. This sport is now played by professionals and many others. Since kids do not get paid for their sacrifices and since their bodies are not developed they are susceptible to injury. Football is a dangerous sport for the youth. Middle schoolers do not get paid for the sacrifices they put on the field. Lots of kids' dreams are to get to the league but at what cost? “Half of the injuries in football are permanent” (Shilstone 3). Kids suffering permanent injuries are losing thousands which some families can not afford. According to the Daily Eastern Sports News, it says “ The total equipment cost a total of $1200” (Schultz 2). If some parents do not have the money for the gear they may get cheap and broken gear that does not work. This can show how football is not a sport for young children. …show more content…

According to Football Injuries in Young Adults, it states “That at least 550,000 injuries occur annually in football” (Turbavile 3). This can show how the body of not just young teens are most likely to get injured. According to Injuries in Youth Football “The injury experience of 5,128 boys… 38.9 are identified as major injuries” (Goldberg 5). This can prove that a little less than half of injuries that occur in football are major injuries. Showing that kids may be damaging their future as much as their bodies.
