George Lucas, the creator of star wars, is worth 5.4 billion dollars. He and his films are major staples in motion picture film industry, such as Indiana Jones and Star Wars. He also has many more lesser known movies such as his early films Labyrinth: THX 1138 4EB, and American Graffiti. When he was younger he had a strong passion for cars and automobiles, which inspired his first film. George was born in California. George Lucas was born in Modesto, California on May 14, 1944 and lived with his parents. When he was at a young age his family moved to a suburb in Eastern California. On his way home the library he was going to fast to see his friend Frank Ferreira, who was trying to race him, when he broadsided him and wrapped the Fiat around a chestnut tree. This ended his dream of being a racer.
When George went off to college he first started at his hometown of Modesto Junior College for 2 years, and then began studying film at University of Southern California. This is where Francis Ford Coppola saw George’s film brilliance and helped George enter film business. Shortly after entering film school he created his first short film Labyrinth: THX 4EB which after it released in 1971 was not very well known or liked by many. George then lead on to release a movie influenced by growing up in the suburbs of California. This film was called American Graffiti, which was about a group of high schoolers that take one last ride before college that starred many now afamed actors.
