Throughout the years, a question has always been proposed in our system. The question whether America should change its gun control? Gun control has always been a problem in our country. There have been millions of people that have been killed due to the fact of an incorrect use f a gun. There are many individuals who have a gun for various reasons. Not only may an individual use it to protect themselves, but they could also use it for hunting, and/or other outdoor activities. Although it is an individual's right to be able to purchase and have a gun, we as a country need to make sure that these individuals who have guns are using them correctly. This is where our country needs to regulate and enforce the laws. There have also been many tragic events in our nation's history that have shook up our perspective on the use of guns.

An example of a traumatic experience would be the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that occurred on December 14, 2012 (BBC NEWS). .During this traumatic experience, 20 students were shot as well as six adult staff members. Another traumatic event was the shooting was in Colorado at the premier of “The Dark Knight Rises.” Twelve people were killed and fifty-eight individuals were wounded. These and various more traumatic events is why America should change its gun control laws. Since these individuals are not using guns for the right reason, they need to take disciplinary actions and make it more restricted. According to President Barack Obama, 30,000 American citizens have lost their life due to bear arms. Barack Obama also stated “In 2013 alone, more than 500 people lost their lives to gun accidents- and that includes 30 children younger than 5 years old” (King).
