Requires core and flexibility Being a gymnast means you have to have a built up core strength. Having core strength means your stomach and back muscles are strong. This will make it easier to do gymnastics and other physical activities. Flexibility is key because, doing tricks would not be easy without it. Flexibility is being able to touch your toes, and bend backwards without you being in pain. Flexibility is also good for your balance, and posture. Which is good to have for gymnastics. 2. You should know if you want to twist, what way you should turn ,so you twist the right way. Some things that are most important to gymnasts are building your flexibility, being able to leap without banging hard on the floor. All of these things have a science behind it the as a gymnast you will learn. I have learned a lot. I listen to my coach talk somethime and wonder why I need to know this but eventually I realize why. For example if you don't run on toe when you vault you will go slow, this I did not believe tell one day we had to run flat footed and on toe. This was being timed and I was way faster on toe. Both types of gymnastics are seen in the olympics. Artistic gymnastics is the most practiced around the world ,and has four different events. The events are vault, uneven bars, beam, and floor. Rhythmic gymnastics is a combination between some gymnastic moves and dance. Girls perform single, in paris in trios or in groups of six. In rhythmic gymnastics you have a string ball and hoop. Last .but not least is aerobic gymnastics this type of gymnastics is showcasing strength and flexibility and is seen mostly in groups of 6.
