Has Brady Surpassed Montana? Immediately following he New England Patriots Super Bowl victory over the Seattle Seahawks, discussion about Tom Brady’s place in NFL history had begun. Theres no question in the football world that Brady is an all time great, while many see him as the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. After having a couple weeks to soak in, there are some things that are agreed on. First, Brady’s most well known rival during his career has been Peyton Manning, however after the 2014 season it seems the discussion of Manning vs. Brady may be over. Football has changed so much over the years that Brady’s numbers are far superior to Montana’s. Tom Brady as the Patriots quarterback has thrown for over 4,000 yards in seven seasons, throwing at least 25 touchdown passes in 10 different seasons. While Joe Montana has not thrown for more than 4,000 yards, and threw at least 25 touchdown 6 times. Brady known for him consistency makes few mistakes, on average he throws an interception on only 2 percent of his passes. On the other side Montana was picked off on 2.6 percent of his throws. Brady led the NFL in passing yards twice, which Montana never did. Brady passed for the most touchdown passes three times, and Montana led the the league in touchdown passes just twice.
