Horrific. Unacceptable. Preventable. The Holocaust was one of the most tragic, unjustifiable genocides in history, resulting in the death of millions of innocent Jewish people. The amount of damage caused by the violent behavior the Jews were forced to endure is truly unfortunate. However, from such a dreadful occurrence comes the opportunity for redemption. It is essential that the lessons that can be learned from this genocide are emphasized and its impact on history not neglected. Thus, it is important to prevent Holocaust denial because, through the education provided from studying such a significant event, the chances of history repeating itself decrease drastically and the opportunity to improve how such issues can be dealt with in a more effective, acceptable manner. Nevertheless, despite the principal target of the Holocaust being the Jews, such a traumatic experience also impacted the lives of others, resulting in non Jews being tortured or murdered as well. The Holocaust is a prime example of the importance of all humans, of all races and religions, to treat each other with respect, for when one culture is targeted, it is inevitable for the lives of others to also be put in harm's way. Therefore, knowledge is power. The more society is aware of the dreadful occurrence, the more society can prevent the growth of Antisemitism, the main cause of the Holocaust. With Antisemitism spreading, not only does the potential for another event such as the Holocaust to occur rise, but discrimination in general also rises. Ostracism, racism and other forms of prejudice continue to derive from Antisemitism, leading our society down a dangerous path, a path that could be avoided completely through acceptance and
