The emotional appeal is appealing to the emotions of death and oppression, which greatly increases the effectiveness of the meaning of the poem. Conflict is also used to engage the audience with the repeated conflict between us vs them. The depth this poem has achieved is vast with inflammatory language such as “pressed to the wall dying but fighting back” is the ending verse of the poem giving us great insight and leaving the reader with a scarily intense image in their head.
