Insole Pain

Insole pain or simply foot pain is a condition so common that 75 percent of people in the United States have it. You might think that insole pain only affects athletes since they are more active; however, that is not the case. It can affect everyone who uses their feet!

You use your feet to walk, jog, run, sit or stand. Your feet are a very important part of your body that allows you to move from point A to point B. You use your feet quite a lot so it is no wonder that you might sustain an insole pain.

But what are the reasons why you experience a painful foot?

The Causes of Your Insole Pain
When you experience insole pain, it is commonly a symptom of a particular foot ailment. Some common foot conditions that cause you insole pain are:

Here are some steps to manage your foot pain:
Determine the cause. Is it due to your foot ailment? Do you have plantar fasciitis or heel spur? Are you overweight? Is it because of wearing high heels for a prolonged period of time? Once you determine the cause, you can start applying the best course of treatment for your insole pain.
Follow the RICE method. Generally, when the cause of your insole pain is a result of any foot ailment, it is safe to follow the RICE method which is R-est, I-ce, C-ompress and E-levate. Rest the affected area to prevent further harm. Then to minimize swelling, apply an ice pack, compress the affected foot with an elastic bandage and elevate it.
Eliminate the cause. If one of the causes of your insole pain is obesity or prolonged wearing of high heels for example, start eliminating the cause. If you’re obese, exercise and eat a healthy diet to shed off those excess fats. Wear flat shoes if the cause of your insole pain is high heels.
