FDR and the Jews during World War Two If America is such a great place to live then why were Jewish people treated so differently during World War Two? They were looked down upon and were exiled out of every country due to Hitler’s raid of hatred towards Jews. But Hitler wasn’t the only one showing hate towards this group of minorities, it was being shown throughout the American public as well. We’ve faced many problems going back to the great depression to plagues and eventually we set it right and keep having freedom that many countries are lacking.Through all the triumph America has faced, the biggest discrepancy was how they DIMINISHED and mistreated Jewish minorities during World War Two. At the beginning of the war the Great Depression just ended, which was one of the worst hits America has faced. After Pearl Harbor many were shocked; like many others we blamed the Jews. Not all American’s hated Jewish people and what they stood for. Which made leaders of the Jewish community very uncomfortable and uneasy that the public not only accepts them, but are diminishing their work/what they accomplished.
