The movies that I have been chosen are 17 Again (directed by Burr Steers) and Karate Kid (directed by Harald Zwart). These are two different movies that both represent a teen’s life. The teenagers use very different language in both of these movies. Dre (Karate Kid) is an early teen of 13 years of age while Mike O’Donnell is 17 years old. The stereotypes and characteristics are quite simular. My preference to which movie represents teens better in today’s society would be Karate Kid. They both represent teenagers well but in different ways. The language in 17 Again does not suit the audience as well as Karate Kid because the teenagers in the movie use outdated language such as “Who 's that stone cold fox? Language used in the Karate Kid involves a lot more slang that we use today while 17 Again uses old fashioned language. An example that are in Karate Kid are: “Hey. What 's up?
