Throughout my high school career I have been a part of many volunteering opportunities. Being able to help others has been something I have been passionate about for quite a while and it only fits best that I continue doing so. I have a lot experience with working with kids ages 3-12 through my job at Triple C summer camp and from formally being a teacher leader at my local church on Sundays. My goal, when I go to help others, is to give them the confidence I know they have inside them to accomplish whatever it is they want to do. Being a leader in the Educators Rising Club here at Riverside makes me realize what a difference helping a student academically can do.
I see myself as a very patient and understanding person when it comes to talking to others and seeing their perspective on how they see a particular situation. I’m a type of person who will be proud of not only myself but others as long as their best was put forth. Being a leader not only means showing by example but being an example to yourself when no one is looking. Being a counselor I had a lot of responsibility, and it required me to be flexible with day to day changes of the schedule. I had to be able to keep a ready mind to be able to jump into any situation involving a child and getting them to where they needed be. I also had the opportunity to have one on one conversations with my campers and I had to put myself into their shoes in order tosolve problems without having to go to the lead director to solve it for us. Due to my patience and flexibility I have been asked to come back and work during the school year as an after school
