The love between Romeo and Juliet broke the feud between the two families. The central idea of the play is the hatred between the families. The motifs of time and love versus hate in “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is developed by figurative language and imagery to reveal how the two feuding families come together from love. In beautiful city of Verona, a long-standing hatred between Montague and Capulet erupts into new violence. The citizens stain their hands with blood of fellow citizens. But Romeo the son of the Montague and Juliet the daughter of the Capulet become lovers and commit suicide. Which unfortunately ends the feud between the two families. Juliet talks about how, things are happing so quickly at this point that Juliet remarks that she fell in love with Romeo before she found out that he was a Montague and her enemy. Such as “My only love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me. That I must a loathed enemy.” (1.5.7-10).
