Hair Moisture content basics

One of the issues that bothers many is dry hair. When the hair is dry, it is not soft to the touch, and it looks and feels like a straw. Also, compared to normal hair, dry hair will not look healthy, and it won’t have natural shine.

Importance of moisture
When it comes to hair, it may become dry in the same way the skin can. The most important thing is to provide moisture to your hair, because when it is dry, it means it has the lack of moisture. Moisture content is very significant. Many research and studies have shown that when the moisture content is low, the hair becomes dry, it is brittle, and it breaks so easily when you stretch it. Many different factors can have the impact on the moisture content, which is why it may vary. Hair tends to absorb the moisture straight from the air, which means it is hygroscopic. When the air is dry from heating, or in certain areas with desert climate, the share of water hair will absorb is about 10 %. In atropical rainforest area, that share is about 30 %. The moisture content is also responsible for the flexibility of the hair.
One of the main factors that determines the quality of the hair is the moisture content. There are some important variables as well. Some of those are humidity in the air, type of hair, diet, possible chemical treatments, such as bleaching and dying, and so on.
