Question Number 2: What are the strengths and weakness of using mystical experience to prove one’s belief in God?
Answer:
A person who has mystical experience claims himself to be in direct communication with God or other supernatural beings. The belief that one has about mystical experience is that the experience does not need to the arguments or reasoning to be believed. The other person who does not have the mystical experience also cannot insist the one who has the experience to prove of her existence. This mystical experience has weakness and strengths to prove the existence of supernatural being of God, such as:
Mystical experience that belongs to someone cannot be explained by logic. This weakness becomes famous discussion among philosophers. Mystical experience sometimes happens to someone trough the dream or some another unexplained events in his life. Why is this unexplainable by logic? Because, according to David Hume, it against the laws of nature. For example, when someone said that he saw a flying man, the arguments is against the nature. Human being is created without any ability to fly. The body structure of human being is created as a creature which is living on the ground. So, it can be assumed that the argument is false, because it against the law of nature.
