New Mexico has a wide variety of representatives, senators, and a good governor. Some of our main elected officials in New Mexico that you hear about are Governor Susana Martinez, Secretary of State Dianna Duran, Attorney General Gary King, State Treasurer James Lewis and many more. Many of us get the idea in our head that the people we elect are all for themselves but the problem with thinking that way, is that we have no clue how hard it is to run a state or a city for that matter. Many of us don’t understand how much it takes to run a state. I think that we need to educate ourselves on people that run for office, so that you know the issues that they stand for and so we elect the right people to run our state and/ or our country. The governor is the chief executive of the state and runs the executive branch of government. He/ she is the commander-in-chief of the military and is responsible for managing the state budget New Mexico has a great hard working Governor named Susana Martinez (What are the Governor’s Responsibilities?).
