After a long debate, Ryan and I finally agreed on our subject that we would use for our multi media project. We had decided that we were going to do a Public Service Announcement on TCU Crime Alerts. We were going to write an argument to convince rather than persuade students on campus to take Crime Alerts more seriously. We deliberated on what would be the most appropriate medium for our topic and decided to go with a Public Service Announcement. We discussed the pros and cons of the Public Service Announcement versus the other mediums that were available to us. Ryan and I decided that print would not be able to convince our audience enough, however a video might be too much and could distract our audience from the message. Leaving us with the Public Service Announcement form of media. While I think our Public Service Announcement uses the three main rhetorical strategies (Logos, Pathos, Ethos), I feel that our main rhetorical strategy that we focused on was Ethos. We focused a lot on the facts of crime in and around the TCU campus. As well we pulled from creditable sites for our information on the statistics of crime both on TCU campus and The United States. We also organized the argument in an easy way so that students and faculty of TCU can easily follow the information they are being given. It was obvious that we both were going to help write the Public Service Announcement script together. As well as picking out images, sounds, and the general flow of ideas that were used in our Public Service Announcement. Once we had everything written and picked out. We decided that Ryan would be the voice in the Public Service Announcement, since I wasn’t super comfortable with it, and I would make the video and edit it with his voice. We got together to record, I recorded, and then I put the video
