Racism is Still Prevalent in the United States Racism is the act of mistreating a given section of people in the community based on their skin color. The black community has since time immemorial experienced harsh treatment from their counterparts, especially in the United States. In the past, whites used to live in their land and black people too in their territory until slavery business emerged. Many blacks were shipped from their mother countries and lured that there were greener pastures in the western side. In large numbers, people were shipped, and as a result, a lot of black people were taken to the plantations to work. Much efforts have been made to curb racism in the United States, but the blacks are still facing some challenges in the society. At first, the whole society views foreigners as a threat to the community. Due to this fact, the country’s security system has focused on scrutinizing the blacks. It is not unique in many American societies to find an African American Killed by police. At most times, the murdered individuals are innocent and an armed. Demonstrations is a typical scenario in the country, more so by the minority groups. The cards these people carry highlights the discrimination they are facing in the post-racial American society. The number of prisoners in the country stresses the degree of racism in the country. The blacks occupy the most significant portions in most of the prisons in the country. Surprisingly, most of these people have been detained under questionable means. Discrimination against the African American is still evident in the U.S. Post-racial discrimination has taken a new perspective on the current society as the whites are the main culprits.
