The (ISC)² and Raytheon Women's Scholarship Programs became a top priority for me after I discovered it on Scholarships.com. I knew I could qualify and win based on my work experience under the Department of Defense (DoD) and my interest in majoring in Information Technology and Cyber at Augusta University. My high school career has exemplified my uniqueness and set me apart from other candidates. My drive to be successful and accomplish my goals brings confidence that I will flourish in Cyber Security. My determination and passion in becoming an expert in information technology shows why I would be a great candidate and investment.
I immersed myself in the realm of Information Security during my junior year of high school. I took the Graphic Design technical pathway for three consecutive years, learning photography/photoshop and making my mark in the school community via the yearbook. I also learned how to handle technology such as cameras, Adobe software, and computers. This experience furthered my interest in how technology is blended to create complex products, and ignited my curiosity into how the various components of computers function. After a lengthy background check, interview process, polygraph, and psychological examination, I was accepted into the program as a Computer Aide. Since being there, I’ve seen the amazing job possibilities in the IT field and learned what it takes to excel in these positions. Being exposed to a myriad of resources, I’ve been able to further my knowledge in cyber security--specifically the level of collective effort it takes to secure the network and secure the enterprise.
