The goals that I set for tap class were to learn a good foundation of tap and the tap terminology. I want to be a well rounded dancer and I need a great foundation of tap. It is very hard to do all the fancy steps in tap when you do not have a basis to go from. I also want to know all of the tap terminology so when I teach my class in the summer I know I am using all of the right words. It also good to refer to the steps by their correct terms not the sounds or words I use to remember them. I am already learning a great foundation of tap and the terminology. I have learned more in depth about each step and enjoy tap more each class. In tap we have created a very solid base and it is helping me with the more complicated steps that I have been having troubles with. At first I was pretty shy just because there are so many outgoing personalities. Throughout the weeks I have grown more comfortable and really enjoy being in tap class. I like how diverse the group is with dance levels. I think it is really awesome to see how people who have never done tap before interpret the steps. I feel very fortunate to have such a great basis in dance but I sometimes wish I have not been so heavily influenced by my academy. The people who have had very minimal movement have very natural movement. I also am so impressed with how well the overall class is doing. I came into the class thinking it would be extremely basic and that I would not have to work on the steps that much. To my surprise, it has been not been that easy. The tap class has actually been exciting and not boring at all. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in tap and I am very excited for the rest of the semester. I cannot wait to learn more terminology and get more in-depth on steps. It has been a great semester so
