The criminal justice system in the United States is an evolving multitude of laws, policy, and rights granted to US citizens. In this paper I will discuss how the evolution of this system, in my opinion, will continue in the future. I believe technology is a leading front-runner in the century today. Technology is transforming the world into a digital sphere with a multitude of robots to assist humans with “day to day" activities. There are three main technologies that I believe will be responsible for the advancement of the criminal justice system in the United States. Those technologies are: tracking softwares (located in phones and computers), digital cameras (located in phones, restaurants, street), and social media outlets. This is the one of the leading pastimes that occur in this current era. Social media has various restrictions to protect individual and societal rights. Some rights that are protected include: freedom of speech, religion, and privacy. Privacy within these applications is obtainable, yet information from social media can be used in court cases. There is ample admissible evidence included in what someone post on their pages. Many cases are solved efficiently because of social media information. In conclusion, new technologies are advancing the criminal justice system. More accurate evidence is being disclosed that is helping the court system efficiently convict criminals. Even though these technologies are creating a more adequate justice system, they are decreasing individual rights. Individual rights are being deprived due to the loss of privacy these technologies create. Tracking devices, cameras, and social media websites are taking over this new era and transforming the criminal justice system in the
