During the Holocaust, it had left so many marks on people’s lives that they aren’t the same person as before. Hitler was the leader at the time and he was honored by some of his people and made any life decisions for them. He treated his people poorly especially the Jews but they weren’t the only group having that problem. Gypsies, Russians, Poles and others and they were treated like an outcast in this society and were never welcomed. The disabled were no different, they were viewed as worthless because of their disability. The effects of having a handicap during the Holocaust was being killed and being viewed as damaged because they were useless to society. Germany was known for the killing the handicapped. Based on this article, the author shows us that the way the society handled the handicap was the same way they handled other things. According to the article “Euthanasia” Killings”, “Killing became part of hospital routine as infants, children, and adults were put to death by starvation, poisoning, and injections.” The article is saying that after killing all those handicapped people they constantly kept starving and poisoning their patients to just end them. Killing kept happening for medical reasons or because others were being selfish and killed them for their needs. According to the article, the author is telling us that some of the murder techniques used by Hitler were used in other areas. Based on the article, “Gas chambers from some of the “euthanasia” killing centers were dismantled and shipped to extermination camps in occupied Poland.” It explains that the gas chambers that were used for the handicapped are being transferred to concentration camps. This program was an impact on the Holocaust because by moving these chambers it shows that killing the handicap lead to killing people in those camps. There is support of the Holocaust in the “euthanasia” program because before the handicap were being killed for having something that is a part of them and it lead to gas chambers as a murder tool or punishment in the concentration
