Ever since God made man, volunteering has been in existence. Volunteering is the act of helping others, for no bounty, when the person is not able to help themselves. Volunteers have pleasing and compassionate hearts for the world and everyone in it, rich and poor. Though volunteering does not produce any compensation, it does leave the volunteer with a more fulfilled life. Volunteering is fantastic for one’s health, his or her career, an individual’s community, and its ability to open a door to save people from an eternity in hell.

If a group of higher class people live together, the community will be well off, meaning it will look nice and have proper equipment and stable structures. Poorer communities, full of lower class residents may not be as blessed to have stable structures and job opportunities. In his article, Kevin Howell tells how volunteering effects the community; “Whether it’s the money communities save by the hours volunteers dedicate, the partnerships that bring organizations together, or the much-needed services volunteers provide, community service projects have a measurable impact” (Howell). In not so blessed communities, the money saved due to volunteers can be used to purchase new sewer systems, a playground for the local kids, or even a new city hall. Community service projects performed by volunteers may include: mowing the yard of a disabled veteran, cleaning roadside ditches, and sweeping the local grocery store’s parking lot. Great communities are known by their cleanliness and the people who call the area home. Volunteers are greatly appreciated by communities of all types, all around the globe.
