What parkour is, is a cross between calisthenics, cardio and gymnastics. What they do altogether is give you than just overall strength and I’ll tell you why I prefer this routine compared to weight lifting. I started weightlifting in the Navy four years ago, and dropped it completely when I knew I was able to do this sport and found myself a nearby gym. I’ve found myself being able to completely blow away any kind of barriers that have been found in-front of me, which has given me a perspective to conquer any obstacle in life. When learning parkour, you will also have to train yourself to get stronger by doing calisthenics when climbing tall obstacles, which is done by completing sets of pull-ups. When vaulting over objects you train to become agile and by doing so you’ll need to learn certain moves that you may see gymnast use. It’s also a given that you have to run and makes the most sense when maintaining your endurance, but this is also being implemented with just about everything else. When weightlifting, you are at a disadvantage while looking for specific equipment and remain obligated to either buy equipment or go to a gym. If you’ve been to a gym before you may have experienced the crowds and times it can be completely packed where you’re not able to even workout or may have to change your routine just so you don’t waste the trip. Save yourself the money and the headache and go to a local park where you’re able to start out with basic movements and exercises.
