Alabama Crimson Tide. Oregon Ducks. Florida State Seminoles. These are just some of the major names of colleges that boast one or more of the most successful sports’ programs across the country. Colleges across the country recruit players who they think can help them continue this success and will get them to that big post-season appearance every college program craves. The talented individuals that participate in college athletics should be compensated for their time in post-secondary sports. It is a matter that has taken flight to the social and educational world over the last decade. College athletes should be paid because they work long hard hours, play games, attend class,have many expenses,take all the risks of injury, and overtop of that they are responsible for the revenue that is being brought in. They miss classes, social events, even missing out on free time. Even their own physical self is worn down over time. The athletes are who we all cheer for. The athletes are the ones who put in all the work. Thee athletes are the ones who are pulled from classes for events and competitions. They do all the hard work to line the pockets of the NCAA corporations. To say they do not deserve some sort of payment to have for themselves is just downright selfish and inconsiderate. We all know that life has struggles, whether it's working a fulltime job and having kids to raise as well of playing sports in college. A little money on the side to help out with things might be what we all need. They are both students and athletes, and as long as they maintain a good standard both on and off the field, there should be no reason they do not get a little bit of what everyone else is
