College athletes getting paid why or why not
According to an ESPN reporter Hensley, “Wallace said he typically had $180 each month after he paid his bills”. This quote shows that college programs have enough money to pay college athletes, they just decide not to because the university gets all of the revenue, while they only allow the players to play at their school. Oddly the athletes do all of the hard work and put their bodies on the line. These athletes fight threw injuries every day to become better. This is an issue because college players don’t know how their future will end up. With a good college program that pays student-athletes for what they do and a good coach who teaches, this can change their future for the better. College programs

Many people know or have heard about these college programs getting all of this money and that’s not what the viewers paid for they paid to watch the game and watch their favorite players play and not to see these programs get all of this money for no reason. This is an issue because the viewers are getting ripped off of their money and the revenue that the programs get goes to nothing good for the players only, the university. In the article “College Players Should Be Paid, the author Scott Polacek stated, “College athletes should be paid because some of the players struggle with finances and a player at ole miss university was struggling to get food for himself”(Polacek). This evidence proves my claim because the college athletes work so hard to earn a name for theirselves. They also work even harder to play at the top level of competition. According to ESPN, the price paid to “televise college football for the past 12 years was 7.3 billion dollars, the programs get that none of the players get that”. College athletes can make profit off of their names, the program and all of the money they make and the athletes education this is why college athletes should be paid. College athletes should be able to make a profit off of their image and names and likeness because they don’t know what their future holds for them and honestly they could not have a future after college so the programs should pay them just so they don’t have to worry about everything. Another reason why college athletes shouldbe paid is because the programs they go to get alot of money after each game and each year, the athletic department of the NCAA made around 18.9 billions dollars and none of that goes to any of the players all of that goes to the coaching staff and the universites itself. Last reason why college athletes should be paid is because if they don’t get paid money they should at least get paid with a very high education from there universites and should graduate with something they can be grateful and happy about. Now go and tell people that college athletes should be paid for the sport they
