To attend Arizona State University was always a goal of mine. I have always loved ASU since I was a little girl. I am third generation Arizona native and have loved every aspect of the desert lifestyle. But, it wasn’t until recently that I was able to make attending ASU go from a dream to a reality. Starbucks, the company that I have worked for the past five years, started an amazing partnership with ASU. Starbucks is paying my college tuition, as long as I attend ASU online. How amazing is that?! I love the company that I work for; they truly care about their partners (employees). They offer many benefits to their partners, but tuition to ASU has to be the icing on the cake. Through ASU online, there are many degrees that I had to choose from. I knew before enrolling that there were three things that I wanted out of my degree. First, I wanted it to be a business degree. Second, I wanted the degree to have an emphasis in global studies. I could never decide! I was/am curious about almost everything, and because of my thirst for knowledge and knack for learning I best quality is that I am a fast learner. While attending ASU online I will strive to learn as much as I possibly can. I have a thirst for learning. A few years ago I attended and graduated from cosmetology school. I knew that a career in cosmetology wasn’t for me about half way through my certification but, I finished anyway, and worked in the field for a year, all because I enjoyed learning the skills of the trade. My parents always taught me to work hard, have integrity, and never give up. I believe that another one of my strengths is that I take a lot of pride in my work; I never do anything half way. It is just not how I was
