What if we legalized Marijuana? Over the past 5 years the United States has had this ongoing debate on whether we should legalize marijuana in the United States. In that little time there has already been five states that have legalized marijuana for recreational use. Now with most of the U.S wanting to do the same, I'm here to inform you why we should keep marijuana illegal. Scientists have proven that “9% of people that use the drug are in fact addicted to marijuana”(Addiction mar 2017). And the percentage gets even higher the younger you are. However those numbers were tested on the natural plant itself, not the chemically enhanced plant that everyone is using today. A strong marijuana user smokes the drug about 2-3 times a day. Most people don't realize that they're addicted to the drug until they actually try to stop using it. Those that smoke marijuana, Have you ever ask yourself why you smoke? Many say “ I'm not addicted to marijuana I just like to smoke it” people smoke marijuana to get rid of unwanted situations or feelings. “Marijuana masks the problem for a small time while the user is high. Addiction is one of those words that you don't really here when it comes to marijuana use, people think that just because the drug is legal in several states, that it's ok to smoke it even more.
