Meghan Michel World Mythology ”81/2" is a film is about a confused filmmaker without a plan and he has no idea what he wants to do next. His story is told from a director's point of view, and its hero, Guido represent Fellini. This movie jumps in and out of reality and opens with a nightmare of Guido suffocating, and an image in which he floats off into the sky and is pulled back to earth. These individuals who pulled him back to earth are nagging him to organize his plans for him to make his next movie. The setting of the movie takes place at a spa near Rome, and at the set that Guido has constructed nearby for his next movie. a science fiction epic that he has lost all of his interest in. This movie jumps in and out of reality and fantasy. Some critical moments in the movie is when Guido tries to escapes from the uncomfortable present into the pleasant world of his dreams. Guido couldn’t find happiness and he became worn out by his thoughts and lie. Guido’s anima appears to him in various forms. He projects his anima on his wife as well. His anima is a link back to his wife. Guido’s anima inspired him to be able to tell the truth without hurting anyone. Being able to tell the truth without hurting anyone is a skill that not everyone bears. For example Guido’s writer tells his director that Guido’s movies are completely senseless. Guido needs helps so he seeks for advice and churchmen sadly shake their heads at him which results in a flashback to his childhood of guilt. When Guido was little he would go to the beach with his schoolmates to stare at prostitute named Saraghina, she was hard to forget. When he is punished by members of his Catholic school, one entire wall is occupied by a giant portrait of Dominic Savio, which is a symbol of purity in that time and place. This picture reflected Guido's
